Route 66 Interesting Facts:
Route 66 some times referred as a “Mother Road” was official assigned to the Chicago-to-Los Angeles in summer of 1926.
John Steinbeck, in his book Grapes of Wrath was the first person who called Route 66 a “Mother Road”.
Cyrus Avery was the first to refer Route 66 as the “The Main Street of America” in 1927.
The first McDonald’s restaurant was located in San Bernardino, CA on the Route 66.
Route 66 starts in Illinois, Chicago, runs through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and ends in Santa Monica, California.

Route 66 was a significant achievement of the 1920. In the decade of growing transportation, Route 66 became very popular, all-weather highway. Making traveling from state to state became much easier Route 66 became a symbol on unlimited freedom for every citizen who could afford a car. During the Great Depression (1929-1939) the
Route 66 was mainly used by farmers who lost their property and moved to California hoping for better live.
